Birdy Hiatus Announcement

Hey guys, besides the overall burn out fall is coming quick. And in fall comes Japanese proficiency tests. Between GoE and I, we plan on taking several different ones, so time previously spent on Birdy needs to now be spent on study. You may not know this, but in Japan, tests mean everything when it comes to getting a job. You could be completly bilingual, have lived in Japan for 40 years, but if you haven't passed the test, your resume will just be thrown away.

But even so, poor GoE isn't a girl who can quit in the middle of something, so we have to get to a stopping place or she'll go insane. The next good place to stop is the end of "The Child of Quarter" story arc. Thus, Volume 4 Chapter 7 will be our final release.

Now do I mean "FINAL" final? Maybe. We don't know yet. Tests will go all the way till the end of this year. But in January 2010 we will no longer be studying. So check back then and you may just find a stream of new chapters. I'll be sure to give some more updates on our thoughts as we work up to our final chapter.

I'm gonna clue you all in. Goddess of E's computer died a horrible, horrible death. Thus it's been hard to get any translating done. Lucky for you guys we saw it coming and hid a few chapters away in case of emergency. I don't think that the release schedule will be effected. GoE's new computer has been ordered and will be delivered in a week or so.

Commenting Problems Fixed

A big thanks to all you guys who told me the comments were broken. It seems that this is sometimes a problem with 3rd person blogger templates. The code was an old code for blogger comments. So thanks to Google and Blogger Buster everything's fixed. Again, thanks for the heads up.

We should have another chapter out this coming week.

Welcome to 2BIG. This is what happens when you get two bored gaijin trapped in Japan with nothing better to do than translate manga. Our current project is Birdy the Mighty (Tetsuwan Birdy) which we are starting at Volume 1 Chapter 9. Why chapter 9? Because the guys over at Chikan-Manga translated the first 8 chapters before they dropped the title. They did fine work and I see no need to waste our time re-translating. I expect we will have chapter 9 to release for you by 1/24/2009.
